“My name is Max, and I’ve always dreamed of having a French Bulldog. My dog, Coco (aka “Gordito,” as I lovingly call him), came into my life at exactly the right place and the right moment. However, it hasn’t always been easy, we faced some challenges with his reactions towards people and different environments.
That’s when we connected with Yashar, and it truly changed everything for us. I absolutely loved the experience. On the very first day of training, I even cried towards the end. Watching my dog’s transformation from the beginning of the class to the end was emotional and powerful for me.
When Coco was put on a leash and gently corrected, it gave me a painful but necessary realization, I see my dog as my child, and it hurt to think I might have been unintentionally encouraging bad behavior. It wasn’t about punishment; it was about clarity and real connection. From that point forward, Coco did wonderfully, and our bond has only grown stronger and deeper.
I would love to say that we are forever grateful to Yashar for the work he did with us. His approach doesn’t just train your dog to obey, it teaches your dog to connect with you, to truly understand what you expect of them without needing constant corrections. Coco now knows how to behave wherever we go, not because he’s scared, but because he understands and trusts our bond.
We will always be thankful to Yashar and would absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants to not just “train” their dog, but to build a meaningful connection that lasts a lifetime.”

“Dr. Yashar Khosroshahi has worked with some extremely troubled dogs, specifically Mexican street dogs who have suffered abuse, or long-term shelter dogs who need to learn about the outside world. He immediately saw how clever Yanni was and agreed to help her through direct training and by teaching us how to support her.
We can say with absolute confidence and total sincerity that Yashar is one of the kindest and most talented people we’ve met. His love for dogs and his passion for life makes for success in the lives of those animals who get to spend time with him, not to mention the people who learn real skills from him.
Watching Yashar work with a dog is to witness love and skill. His rare gift is magical. His calm presence creates sanctuary. We think he should have a television show, he’s simply the whole
package of firm, loving leadership. His humility is refreshing; he’s not a shameless self-promoter seeking the spotlight; he simply and naturally does the right thing, walks the honourable path. We regard him as a brilliant human and offer our highest recommendation for any person who would like to learn about dog training, and receive insight in how dog owners’ behaviour affects that of their dog’s.”

“After two years of struggling with our dog Jackson’s reactivity and separation anxiety issues we had almost given up hope. Prior to finding Yash, we had worked with several trainers whose approaches ranged from overly generalized (treating Jackson as if he was a territorial bully rather than a deeply anxious and traumatized street dog) to outright harmful. None of these approaches led to meaningful or lasting improvement for Jackson and mostly made things worse by making him more fearful and less confident. Because of the aggressive way Jackson was being trained, he was often too scared to do anything in the trainer’s presence and then was even more reactive than before once the trainer was gone.
Our experience with Yash’s training was the complete opposite.
From our initial consultation, it was clear that Yash approached his work with thoughtfulness and deep expertise. He took the time to really understand Jackson. Rather than imposing a pre-set formula, he tailored his training plan to target Jackson’s specific needs. His training was grounded on behavioral science, focused on building trust, clear communication, and long-term success—without forcing Jackson to move too quickly and always within Jackson’s threshold. He helped us understand the root of Jackson’s issue and how to create a black and white communication structure for Jackson to help build his and our confidence.
Jackson also stayed with Yash for 10 days as part of a board-and-train program, which made a big difference. We got regular video updates and could tell he was in good hands—safe, supported, and being worked with consistently and compassionately. Yash’s family was also involved in Jackson’s training which gave us a chance to see him being worked with by multiple handlers. Yash’s son became enamored with Jackson and gave him plenty of hugs when not in a training session. By the time Jackson came home, there was noticeable progress, and Yash continued to give us the tools we needed to keep things moving in the right direction.
Progress didn’t happen overnight as Jackson was a former street dog who was abandoned and had a lot of resulting trauma, but with Yash’s guidance, we can see a big change in Jackson and how he processes stress. Jackson is now more relaxed and able to handle triggers that once sent him over the edge. More importantly, we now have the tools and understanding to support him through challenges.
If you are looking for a trainer who provides individualized, compassionate care and is genuinely invested in the long-term success of your dog we recommend Yash without hesitation.”

“I have a large hunting dog with a very strong prey drive—stronger than I ever expected. Honestly, sometimes I feel like he’s the one walking me. I had no idea how to train a dog like this. I tried working with a few trainers, but many of them didn’t really understand his breed or just tried to turn him into a little robot. Let’s be honest—my dog is never going to be a calm service dog, no matter how many treats I throw at him. And that’s okay. I didn’t want to take away his natural instincts—I just wanted to survive them… I mean, manage them.
One day, after another long scroll through the internet (and maybe a few frustrated sighs), I found Yashar’s website. He replied super fast—which already felt like a small miracle—and we booked a lesson right away.
At our first lesson, Yashar took his time to really observe my dog. He shared his thoughts and explained how we could move forward. Right away, I felt like, “Yes—this is the trainer I’ve been searching for.” His advice is calm, respectful, and actually makes sense. You can tell he knows the breed. And maybe more importantly—he helped me realize that some of my dog’s dramatic reactions… might have a little to do with me too.
Turns out, training a dog starts with training the human. Surprise!
Week by week, Yashar helped us change small habits—step by step, without pressure, always with encouragement (and sometimes a good laugh). And by the second lesson, I already saw real progress! My dog was still a wild hunter at heart, but now with a bit more self-control—and I felt like less of a confused dog-mom.
I’m really happy I found a trainer who is smart, kind, and has the rare talent of teaching both dogs and slightly overwhelmed humans (yep, that’s me).”

“I’m working with Yashar and our Chihuahua mix ‘MuMu’ who was rescued from Mexico and now lives with us in Canada. We train via Zoom with Yashar.
MuMu appeared to be a reactive dog to strangers coming into our home, children running around and other dogs on walks. She also had issues resource guarding my husband when she sat on his lap.
Yashar is incredibly calm and patient and has such an in-depth understanding of why dogs may behave the way they do, what they are really trying to tell us and how we can help them become our relaxed team mates.
Starting with some basic observing and training methods, Yashar has helped us build a training structure into MuMu’s life that has brought with it a greater sense of security and reduced her need to police things herself. His insight into discussing her behaviour as a whole, and not just in problem areas has been invaluable.
We have just started our training journey and have already seen great improvements in our girl’s behaviour both in and out of the home.
Yashar is committed to helping you understand your dog and how you can work together to get the best out of that wonderful human relationship with our best canine friends.
Recommend 100%! ”

“I entrusted Yashar with Dobby, my absolute best friend and the dog that has won the heart of my youngest child. Dobby has a lot of beautiful traits and he is also a strong and powerful dog who was quick to excite and wreak havoc. I had done a lot of work with Dobby and a different trainer when he was a puppy using a prong collar, however, Dobby knew exactly where the control was coming from and if he wasn’t wearing his collar there were some challenging behaviors at times and periodically behaviors with other dogs that could turn dangerous quickly. For this reason I reached out to Yash. Dobby stayed with Yashar for 5 days and the amount of communication I received during that time was like no other. I knew exactly what was being worked on, how Dobby was doing and what the next steps were. Yashar was great at informing me the reasons he was working on specific things throughout the board and train. I was really nervous leading up to the training because I thought Dobby would spend more time in the crate than out but based on the daily communication this was not true and he came home incredibly tired… a sure sign he was stimulated during his stay.
Upon returning home Dobby has been incredibly responsive to continued training. He has stopped chasing the cats and I can see him catching himself in moments where he wants to do something he knows he shouldn’t. His impulse control has improved immensely. This has brought a lot of calm to my other dog and the cats are not hiding as much during the day. My children are also free to run around, shout and play without us warning them that they are exciting Dobby and to calm down so he doesn’t jump on them.
Dobby is now living in our world instead of us adapting to his.
I highly recommend Yashar for any dog who could use some manners :)”

“I can not thank Yashar enough. I had two crazy lab pups, and I was so overwhelmed with their behaviours and their reactivity towards other dogs. They would constantly pull on the leash, chase the neighbours dogs back and forth through the fence, not listen or take me seriously.
From our first conversation Yashar took the time to ask questions so that he could understand what I was dealing with. During our first session, he helped me understand how to build the proper communication foundations with my dogs. As he said to me, “if we have the proper foundation, we can build up from there”, and that’s what we did.
When he left I was actually able to walk them around my home confidently without them pulling. It was night and day in how they responded to simple basic commands. We were able to build a bond again both individually and as a pack.
To sum it all up, I was living in chaos before and now it’s more harmonious. I have more trust with my girls, but also more importantly where they trust me and see that I am the pack leader that they need me to be.
I would not have been able to accomplish this without his help and guidance. I was at such a loss and had basically given up!! I can not thank Yashar enough!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

“We began working with Yashar for our 16 month old rescue mixed breed. Our biggest concern was that our large puppy Emmett got overly excited around other dogs. We were finding that we had to cross the street when walking by a dog, or just all together avoid coming close to other dogs. Yashar with his great communication, training skills and clear direction now has Emmett meeting people in a respectable manner and loose leash walking. Emmett is able to consistently pass other dogs without over reacting.
Emmett has also boarded at Yashar’s residence a few times overnight. When we have our weekly sessions I can tell Emmett loves Yashar just by the excitement he has on seeing him (we are working on curbing Emmetts excitable greeting towards Yashar but there is a lot of love there). Yashar is a kind soul with a passion for dogs and an ability to communicate well with both dogs and their owners.
We will continue to use Yashar when we return to PV in the fall as we want to be able to take Emmett with us anywhere and have him confident and comfortable in any situation.
We strongly recommend Yashar as a dog trainer.”

“Dog training with Yashar has been an absolute game-changer for our beloved Mia. As a one-year-old bundle of energy, Mia’s playful antics were endearing, but with my 89-year-old grandmother coming to live with us, we faced the tough decision of potentially having to part ways with our furry family member.
Enter Yashar, a true maestro in the art of dog training with an exceptional ability to transform behavior seamlessly. In no time, Mia went from a lively, sometimes mischievous pup to a well-behaved companion. Yashar’s expertise ensured that Mia no longer jumped on any family members, addressing my primary concern about her interaction with my elderly grandmother.
Yashar’s training extended beyond basic obedience, covering a comprehensive range of skills. From mastering commands like ‘stay,’ ‘down,’ and ‘sit’ to essential life skills such as impulse control, respecting boundaries, and even engaging in the ‘yours and mine game,’ Mia’s transformation was nothing short of remarkable.
What truly sets Yashar apart is his dedication to fostering a harmonious relationship between pets and their owners. Mia now excels in following commands, understanding when to stay put, and navigating a variety of social situations with grace. Yashar’s innovative techniques, such as ‘follow the leader,’ ‘let’s go,’ ‘wait,’ and even teaching Mia the importance of sharing and taking turns, have elevated our bond with her to new heights.
Thanks to Yashar’s expertise, Mia is not just a pet; she’s a well-mannered, delightful member of our family. We are eternally grateful for Yashar’s invaluable contributions in ensuring Mia’s seamless integration into our household, especially during a significant life transition. If you’re seeking a professional Yashar is the go-to maestro for transforming your furry friend into the perfect companion.”

“We began working with Yashar following two very scary dog attacks. I had lost all confidence, and my fear and tension was having a negative impact on my dog, Lily. We were caught in a cycle of fear and reactivity. After just a few lessons with Yashar we were communicating better and experiencing calmer, more enjoyable walks. We even began going to new places and sitting on patios which was a goal of mine but I truly never thought we’d get there. I will be forever grateful to Yashar.”

“In anticipation of welcoming Calvin, our cherished Australian Labradoodle, into our lives, we diligently undertook online puppy training courses to ensure a smooth transition. However, despite the simplicity of the instructional videos, we found ourselves confronted with unforeseen challenges when applying the techniques in real-life scenarios. This is when we reached out for dog training with Yashar.
Crate training was specifically one of our biggest challenges. In our moment of frustration and doubt, we virtually sought Yashar’s expertise. Yashar attentively absorbed our concerns and, in turn, offered us astoundingly straightforward yet remarkably effective advice. Within 2 days, our Calvin was calmly crate trained!
Yashar quickly became our trusted source in all matters pertaining to puppy training. Whether navigating the realms of gentle obedience or acclimatizing to the daily routines of life with a young pup (with young children in the home), Yashar consistently demonstrated a willingness to accommodate our inquiries. With a keen ability to dissect our challenges, refine our training methodologies, and equip us with actionable feedback, Yashar’s contributions enriched our training journey immeasurably.
What truly distinguishes Yashar is not merely his proficiency in dog training, but rather his genuine affection for and understanding of dogs. Coupled with his enthusiastic yet pragmatic approach, Yashar’s inherent charisma and friendliness render him an ideal trainer to work with.
Our interactions with Yashar have thus far been confined to virtual training; however, we eagerly anticipate the prospect of in-person training sessions come summertime. Thank you Yashar for alleviating the trials of puppy parenthood and transforming our experience into one of joy and fulfillment!”

“We were introduced to Yashar by a mutual friend who works with animal rescue here in Puerto Vallarta. How lucky we were!! Yashar is a dream come true for dog owners! We love our pups but they both needed a little more training/behavior modification than we could provide. Especially our sweet Luca who was severely abused. He was a Mexican street dog from Lo De Marcos. Yashar helped him conquer his fear and mistrust of strangers, especially men. Yashar has a wonderful way about him, he teaches owners along with their dogs without ever making you feel unqualified or inadequate. He is a real “dog whisperer” and our 2 boys have made great strides under his guidance and so have we. We cannot recommend Yashar highly enough!”

“I contacted Yashar just before I arrived in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico to train my dog Benji who seemed aggressive when walking him towards other dogs.
Yashar and I set up 6 sessions starting a week after I arrived. The first session Yashar met with my husband, our dog Benji and I to evaluate Benji’s behaviour.
Right away he started us on working with Benji to follow our lead. After the six weeks Benji was a totally changed dog. Walking him has become a joy.
Before we were always nervous with him meeting other dogs and people on roller skates or scooters but now knowing the proper technique to eliminate his aggression we feel so relaxed and he seems to also be more relaxed.
Yashar is truly an amazing trainer that works with you to train both owner and dog. Thank you so much for helping us get an amazingly well trained pet. 5/5 star rating. ”

“We can’t recommend Yashar highly enough! His patience, expertise, and innovative training methods have transformed our daily walks with Oxxo and Toto. Before his training, our dogs would constantly pull and struggle to stay by our side, but now they walk next to us calmly and seem much happier during their outings. Yashar’s ability to connect with Oxxo and Toto and his clear, effective communication have made all the difference. His passion for animals and commitment to their well-being is evident in every session. Thanks to him, not only do our dogs behave better, they are also more joyful and confident. If you’re looking for a dog trainer who will change your and your dog’s lives for the better, look no further!”

“I am writing to express my heartfelt recommendation for Yashar, who provided exceptional training and care for our four-and-a-half-month-old French poodle, Luna, during our recent travels. Over the two-week period, Yashar demonstrated outstanding professionalism and a deep understanding of animal behavior, specifically in impulse control, which has noticeably improved Luna’s demeanor.
Yashar’s approach was not only professional but also incredibly nurturing. He provided daily updates with videos and thorough explanations, which greatly reassured us while we were away. Additionally, when Luna encountered a medical issue, Yashar promptly took her to our veterinarian, followed the prescribed treatment meticulously, and kept us well-informed of her progress.
It is without a doubt that Yashar and his wonderful family will be our go-to caretakers for Luna whenever we travel. His dedication and love for animals shine through in his excellent care and training. We trust him completely with Luna and highly recommend his services to any pet owner seeking peace of mind and the best care for their beloved pets.”

“We started fostering a dog through Salty Dog Rescue named Vicenta. She came to us with what seemed to be a fear of men which caused her to be nervous of men coming into our home. I contacted Yashar to help us deal with this issue and to help her to transition into living in a home after years on the streets and at the shelter.
Yashar helped us to understand her behavior and how to deal with it. We were amazed at how quickly she responded to him and the methods he taught us. She started to trust us and feel safe which has resulted in her overcoming her fear of men.
We also worked on crate training, leash training, basic obedience and helping her to acclimatize to the daily routines of our life.
Yashar is a true dog whisperer. He has the ability to connect with dogs, understand their needs and work with them in a kind and compassionate way as well as provide instructions and guidance in a clear and concise way to their guardians. He has a calm presence and is a delight to work with. We can’t recommend him highly enough to anyone who is seeking a better relationship with their dog.”

“I love Basset Hounds, but many trainers have declared them untrainable. They are lovely, but absolutely stubborn. With my first Basset I tried a few trainers. A week ago, I met Mr. Yashar and a miracle happened, my mischievous 3 year old Basset Hound, Max, turned into an obedient honours student! I highly recommend Mr. Yashar if you are thinking of getting a dog or already have one that isn’t listening to you.”
Tania & Max
“It’s been amazing working with Yashar! From what seemed like a hard dog to train because of her stubbornness, he customized her training according to her temper, and made sure to be as honest and clear as possible with us. We are aware that it takes time, practice, and consistency, and we’re so happy with what we’re seeing so far and how well she’s been doing. She behaves much better without losing her essence.”

“We used Yashar to help train our crazy rescues. Yashar was very reliable, professional and effective. He worked with the dogs individually, together and with both my husband and I. After a short time the dogs were listening to our commands and walking beside us. They are a delight to be around now. Thank you Yashar!”
Maureen, Terry, Benji & Poppy
“I recently adopted a beautiful rescue baby, Penelope, who was afraid of everything and had limited experiences because she was born in a rescue.
She needed to build up her confidence so I contacted Yash to help train us. Yash’s instincts were wonderful as he trained the both of us. It was fun and very bonding for me and my new rescue. We are progressing well due to his knowledge and training skills. We are now a wonderful family with a dog who is gaining confidence each day.”

“Yashar was referred to me by a close friend. What a blessing it has been having Yashar come into my life (and Ashbany’s).
My almost 2 year old dog, Ashbany, came to me when she was just over 1 year old, with no training and some wild habits.
Yashar lovingly and intuitively worked with Ashbany over many sessions. She now walks calmly by my side during walks, comes when she is called, sits when asked to sit and lays down when asked to lay down. She is a joy to be around and is a very happy dog, always smiling because it’s like she knows she has learned so much and is proud and happy when she does what she is asked.
I also had Yashar board & train Ashbany when I went on a week vacation – Yashar and his family took loving care of Ashbany and sent me daily updates how she was doing and when I returned to pick her up, I could tell she loved her time at Yashar’s house. Thank you Yashar!”
