Cilla wasn’t looking for a second chance… she created one. She jumped into her rescuer’s car in a grocery store parking lot and refused to leave. Jill, who was about to leave town for three weeks, hadn’t planned on taking in another dog, but Cilla made it clear she wasn’t going back to life on the street.
That single, bold choice set her on a new path.
Jill knew she couldn’t keep Cilla permanently, but she also wasn’t willing to send her off without setting her up for success. Cilla needed more than a kind home. She needed structure, consistency, and someone who could meet her where she was. That’s when Jill reached out to me for help.
I don’t take on rehoming cases lightly. Dogs aren’t projects you complete and hand off. They’re living beings shaped by relationship, environment, and experience. Training only works if it’s part of a larger plan to support the dog long term.
That’s why I said yes to Cilla. Because Jill wasn’t just hoping to get Cilla adopted. She was investing in her future. She wanted Cilla set up for real, lasting success.
During her board and train, Cilla lived in my home, trained daily, and most importantly, learned how to decompress, build trust, and develop emotional resilience. My training always starts with the dog’s psychology, not just obedience. Cilla learned to settle in a crate, relax with a tether, stay on a place cot, and walk calmly on leash. She’s picked up formal skills too (sit, down, stay), but what makes me most proud is how much more centered and connected she’s become.

Cilla is about 3 years old, spayed, and incredibly intelligent. She’s playful, affectionate, and absolutely loves learning. What she needs now is someone ready to continue what we’ve started. Someone who values structure as much as snuggles, who enjoys walks, and who wants to build a true partnership with their dog.
She’s ready for her person.
Watch her training video and see what she’s capable of. If she isn’t the right fit for you, please consider sharing her story. The right person might be closer than we think.
UPDATE: Cilla has been adopted and is living her best life with her new family!
If you’re interested in adopting Cilla or have questions about her, send us a message. We’d love to tell you more about her and help you decide if she’s the right fit for your family.
With gratitude,
Yashar
