When people hear that I went from naturopathic medicine and executive coaching into dog training, they are often surprised. The truth is that it was never part of a plan, although it had always been a dream of mine. My journey into this work began unexpectedly when a neighbor asked me to help with her dog. That one request led to another referral, and before I knew it, what started as a simple favor grew into the work I do today with families and rescues across North America.
Discovering a Natural Fit
What has surprised me most is how natural this path has felt. Dog training has not only become my new career but also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The feedback I hear from clients is what fuels me. Families share that their homes feel more peaceful, their relationships are stronger, and their dogs are calmer and happier. When I see these transformations, it reminds me why I love this work.
Why My Approach Is Different
Yes, I am a dog trainer now, but what sets my work apart is the unique combination of methods I use with dogs and the decades of experience I bring from medicine and coaching. My background has given me a deep understanding of human behavior and the ability to teach people how to make meaningful shifts. This matters because changing a dog’s behavior often requires us to look at our own patterns.
Dogs respond to the energy we bring into the relationship. If we want them to trust us, we need to show up as calm, clear, and confident leaders. For many owners, this can feel emotional, even challenging, but it is also where the breakthroughs happen. My role is to guide people through that process, helping them step into leadership their dogs can trust.
The Gift of an Unexpected Journey
This journey into dog training was never planned, yet it has become one of the greatest gifts of my life. I am grateful for every client who has trusted me, every rescue that has welcomed my support, and every word of encouragement along the way.
I look forward to continuing to share this work, to help more families and rescues, and to show people what is possible when they step into calm, clear leadership with their dogs.
