Hi, I’m Yashar!
I’m a lifelong dog training enthusiast with a background as a naturopathic doctor and certified brain-based executive coach. For over 15 years, I’ve helped people understand complex challenges, first in health and leadership, and now in the world of dog behavior. What ties it all together? Teaching.
My journey into dog training started with my first pup, Chai, and the mentorship of my dear friend, Pia, a master trainer with over 50 years of experience. I honed my skills volunteering at rescues in Ontario, and now I live near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where I work with rescue dogs, expat families, and anyone committed to building a better relationship with their dog. I volunteer with local rescues and continue learning every day through training my own rescue, Pika.
My Approach
I specialize in balanced training and behavior modification, particularly for rescue dogs, reactivity, and emotionally complex cases. I combine positive reinforcement with fair, effective corrections to help dogs, and their humans, move forward with clarity and confidence.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’ve “tried everything,” I’m here to guide you with patience, structure, and empathy. My goal isn’t just to train your dog, it’s to help you become a calm, confident leader your dog can trust.
If you’re ready to create lasting change and a deeper bond with your dog, I’d love to work with you.
Let’s do this together.

Yash K9 Training Philosophy

At YashK9, my training philosophy centers on the belief that a healthy relationship with your dog is built through a thoughtful balance. Boundaries & Limitations without warmth can lead to tension and fear, while Affection & Praise without clear rules can create confusion and instability. It’s in the balance of both, where Respect & Trust naturally grow. This sweet spot is where dogs feel safe, understood, and motivated to follow their human’s guidance, not out of fear, but from a place of clarity and connection.
